Sangam House
Sangam House is an international writers' residency program located in India which brings together writers from across the world to live and work among their peers in a safe, supportive and nurturing space.
We began our publishing program in 2010 with the Other People: The Sangam House Reader vol 1. This anthology brings together short pieces from all the writers that had been resident with us in 2008 and 2009. The volume is multi-lingual: every piece appears in its original language alongside an English translation. Represented languages range from Korean to Tamil with several European languages as well, a variety that represents the diversity of Sangam House itself. We thank all the writers and translators who donated their work to the collection and also the InKo Centre, Chennai and the Centre for Communication and Development Studies, Pune, for supporting the publication.

Wild Girls, Wicked Words was released in January 2013. This bilingual collection brings together selected poems by four Tamil women writers: Kutti Revathi, Malathi Maithri, Salma and Sukirtharani. The poems are translated into English and carry an Introduction by award-winning translator Lakshmi Holmstrom.
Sangam House’s publishing partner for this volume is Kalachuvadu Press.
Other Places: The Sangam House Reader vol. 2 will be ready by April 2013. Once again, it will be a multi-lingual volume and feature works by resident writers, this time from those resident with us in 2010 and 2011.
